    6920 Optics?

Just ordered a 6920 and now am looking for good optic choices. ACOG is just too far out of my price range. Any ideas?

    Thank you much.

I like my C-more. Mine is actually marked Colt. The scout model is for carry handle guns like mine. They also market one for flattops that includes a rear sight for more expense.

If you just want an optical sight without magnification try an Aimpoint or an EoTech. I prefer the EoTech. If you go with an EoTech don't get the N battery models get an AA battery one.

    Re: 6920 Optics?

Thank you both for your replies.

After going some searching I believe the Aimpoint M4 will fit my needs nicely. The price seem to be the same, uniform retail price by Aimpoint I'm sure, on the sites ($702) but I did find one (Nightgalaxy) that has free shipping so I'll sleep on it and probably order tomorrow.

If you can spend $700 on an M4 if you really want the ACOG the compact ACOG goes for around $850.

    Re: 6920 Optics?

I have a LE6920 myself and love it. I also have an ACOG and since owning one wouldn't have anything else on my rail. You can go to AR15.com and search there. Many excellent priced used ones come up fairly often, in the $500-$600 range. They are damn near indestructible, and have EXCELLENT glass. Mine was on the paper almost perfect out of the box @ 100 yds, and with very little tweaking will tear up a ragged hole on a bench rest. I've seen brand new TA01's go for $699 in the Shotgun News, and for what you had to pay for your rifle it is a perfect addition. I've tried Aimpoints, Eotechs, and various scopes but sold them all to go back to the ACOG. If you ever sell them you can always get your money back too.... but you won't want to part with it!

    Re: 6920 Optics?

This is a lot like arguing over Fords and Chevys. I'm in the Aimpoint camp as I've seen Eotechs more open screen be prone to collect snow and rain. On the other hand, the Eotech might be a little quicker because of the larger screen if you don't have weather to deal with. On my last trip to Gunsite the instructors favored the Aimpoint for battery life and ruggedness. They said they had numerous Eotechs croak on the range but not Aimpoints. Second hand info but from a reliable source.

ACOGs are a different animal as most have magnification. My guns are mostly for CQB and under 200 meter use so the Aimpoint works for my needs. For general use and longer ranges the ACOG is a very nice unit.

Depending on the use of the rifle you can't really go wrong with any of them. I would suggest borrowing one of each if you can or try to check them out on a rifle at a shop and pick the one you like. There's nothing worse than buying a $500-$800 item that some other guy really likes but it sucks for you.

    So true indeed!
Way to many varieties to go through by process of elimination.

I got the Colt 6933 Command and I put the Aimpoint M4 on it and love it. Just take some time and look around and you can find a good deal on them. I picked my up from a gun shop in OKLA for 550.00 new in box!

    Re: 6920 Optics?

I bought a NIB Aimpoint M4 at a gun show for $450 out the door. egun.com might have a decent price w/free shipping. I know they had the best price for the 512 Rev. F EOtech when I bought one.
