    New 6920 Questions

Just bought a new 6920 today from a dealer at a show for $1800. My second Colt AR. Had a match H-Bar about 20 years ago that shot MOA. Since they are becoming scarce, I decided to go for it even at these prices. I have some regret that I did not purchase the 6721 HB tactical carbine for $100 less. Thinking that the 6721 with the heavy barrel would have been much more accurate especially in rapid fire? Are the 6920's accurate rifles and how much thinner are the barrels? It looks like there is about a pound difference between the two rifles.

The 6920 is certainly in greater demand and probably a better investment, but is it a better rifle?

You can't say that any model of AR carbine is more or less accurate than another model.
That depends on the individual rifle, selecting ammo THAT specific rifle "likes", and the shooter.

The lighter carbine has a thinner barrel under the hand guard. How that will effect accuracy, even in rapid fire is something you can't call.
Like the old saying, the proof is in the shooting.

My best is about 1 1/2 MOA from my Colt 6920 in a 3 shot group using Hornady 55gr bullets and IMR 4895 powder.
This is using iron sights and a bench rest.
Not all of my 3 and 5 shot groups were that good but better than 1/2 were.
    From my cold dead hands.
    If it ain't a Colt it's a copy.

    I agree.
This was my first trip out with this rifle.
My next step is Sierra 69gr Matchking and IMR 4895.

Will the 75 grain bullets loaded to correct COL fit in the magazine?
    From my cold dead hands.
