OK, I know it's not a "real" AR, but any owners who have shot theirs extensively coming across any issues or problems? Overall satisfaction? Any pros and cons of how this rifle is holding up appreciated (any broken stocks or frames, ect). Thanks.![]()

Ex M4 OPS owner here. Gun shot ok, but just could not deal with the poor quality trigger and difficulty in easily cleaning the rifle.
Just decided to move on to different .22s that were available.
How difficult is it to break down rifle for standard cleaning? Not a complete breakdown but just field stripping to clean barrel, bolt area?![]()

Taking this gun down for cleaning requires tools. You first have to unscrew the flash suppressor with the supplied wrench. Then you need a punch to push out the takedown pin to open the upper receiver. Then comes the surprise that the bolt and carrier do not come out so you have to clean it with a product like Gun Blaster. The bolt and carrier look like they're fabricated from zinc or some sort of pot metal. When I first bought mine I loved the looks of it and it did shoot well, the only problem I had functionally was the safety falling out while shooting. This is a really poorly designed firearm that I would not recommend.
Check out the Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 it is a much better rifle and it takes down easily for cleaning.
3000+ rounds and still going strong in my M4 .22. I have NOT taken it down past the recommendation in the manual for cleaning and do not intend to. The gun shoots just fine and accurate without taking it down further than the manual recommends. I find it difficult to comprehend that there are those that insist on taking this thing apart further than that. I don't recall the OP asking for any opinions on the S&W rifle. I personally don't care if the gun is purportedly "better" than the Colt. I don't think the S&W looks enough like an M4, that is why i won't buy it, and oh yeah....it's made of plastic, no flash suppressor, no dust cover, etc.

chucksolo, I definately agree with you that the Colt looks like a real M4, and I think that is the main selling point. Mine was accurate and reliable but I just don't like the fact that the bolt isn't removable for cleaning. I'm just one of those guys that clean my guns thoroughly after each range session. With my M4 that is nearly impossible even using something like GunBlaster, you just never get the thing perfectly clean, but that's just me. I just wish Walther would have engineered it like the M&P15-22 and closer to a centerfire M4. And while my M4 is accurate, it has an awful trigger that I can't change or do much about. Everytime I take down my S&W I wonder why couldn't something with the Colt name on it come apart like the real thing. If they ever re-engineer it, I would definately buy another one.
A simple way would be to get a cleaning kit, and most AR's should(all) have two pins to push out for swapping the upper receiver and cleaning the barrel.
