SP1 production dates

Hello group. I am the proud owner of two SP1's. A 20" rifle #SP164526 and SP1 carbine # SP168764. If any one can help with the date they were made
it would be greatly appreciated.

1982.....SP164001

I forgot to add on some of the AR's there is a date on the barrel under the hand guards.
My first AR is an A2 from 1984 I found at a garage sale. Tom

Since you have a book with dates, I have a H- BAR sporter with the ser# MH-003380. Can you give me the date of Manufacture?

Just call the Colt factory during business hours and they'll give you a production year over the phone for free.

They won't answer any other questions for free.
