    New in the box m16a1

I love my 6920 but wanted to collect and few Class III weapons. I already own a Serbu Super Shorty which is an AOW but I wanted some machine guns. Low and behold, a NIB 1985 production M16A1, in 653 configuration, is listed for sale less than 90 minutes drive. After some emails and phone calls, I broke the speed limit and bought it. As soon as BATFE does their thing, I can actually possess it. I'm so excited now I could bust but now I need an MG to shoot!

Once you shoot it, you won't regret it

If your ever in Louisville, KY; look me up and we will meet at Knob Creek range. I'll bring my Colt M16A1, you buy the ammo and lunch. I have mine in 3 configurations, original 20 in. A1 upper, commando 11.5 upper (large flash more noise) and 9mm submachinge gun upper with Colt magwell adapter. Shooting 9mm, one never has to worry about overheating the gun if they get carried away and forget to set it down for awhile.

Most likely after shooting one and when you arrive home, you will say scr*w this safe queen bullsh*t, I'm going to fire this thing like it was made for!

Recently purchased an M16A1 like yours. My first and probably my last M16. It is also like new, made in the mid 80's. Have been waiting for the
paper work to clear. Went pending August 5th. Still waiting. stocking up
on ammo, which I know I'll need a lot of, because I have a West Hurley
Thompson. I reload for the Thompson, on a Dillon 550, but reloading for
the m16 will be a little more involved, and I'm not sure if it's worth the
effort, given the price of components and the extra work involved.

Why do we press harder on the buttons of a remote control when we know the batteries are dead?

Do you use a dedicated upper, or just installed the conversion kit?

I bought a DPMS 16" upper minus carrier and installed the Ciener 22 conversion . Added the Aimpoint and it's ready to go . I just swap back and forth with the 10.5" Bushmaster HB upper .

I haven't shot the Super Shorty yet. I've seen videos and they're quite the flame thrower. I'm gonna keep my NIB M16A1 as it is, NIB, and get another one to shoot. The 22LR conversion sounds like a neat thing to do. I'm told that the twist on the 223 barrel is horrible for 22LR and the dedicated upper is the way to go.
