    Factory Engraved 1878 (Shotgun, Not D.A. )

Don't see to many posts in the COLT Long Gun section. I was just checking out the On-Line catalog for the April Rock Island Auction. (www.rockislandauction.com)

I really like the looks of the the exposed hammer Model 1878 Shotguns.

Lot # 1612--- Is a Lettered, Factory Engraved, Shipped in 1879. I don't think I have seen a lettered Factory Engraved Model 1878 Shotgun before.

Have any members ever run across one of these before?

    I freakin got one

OMG! yes! I have one. Where can I get accurate info on this gun! All I can find is "speculative" auctionier descriptions. I want cold hard facts!

Blue Steel Barrel. Engravings all over the hammers, trigger, stock and sides.
The gun is mint condition. It was obviously never used as a functioning firearm rather a collectors item or centerpiece.
