    Colt 1893 10 gauge info

Hi ,Im looking for some help in valuing my shotgun I am thinking of selling it and do not wish to give it away as I have a history of doing. The gun is a 1893 hammerless double 10 gauge I have had it for quit a few years after buying it from a estate sale. When I purchased it I was unaware that it had to use black powder shells, this I found out when I tried to buy shells for it after the purchase.I know it is hard to value without a picture but I am new here and not very good with computers. The gun is in very good shape for the age the pattern on the demascus barrels is 90% no dings or rust, the action is tight and seams to be fully fireable.the forarm has a sliver missing from the top and the stock has a notch out of it by the butplate, overall it is pretty nice. the serial # on the trigger guard is 2300.The rear and front beads are still in the rib and are off white in color ,might be ivory I do not know.thank you for any help that can be given .

I submit that your shotgun is an 1883 Hammerless, just a little typo..(LOL).

The blue Book provided the following info; Since the description is your understanding and may not reflect the views of others you will have to rely on the Blue Book and Closed auctions to try and determine the value>

MODEL 1883 HAMMERLESS- 8, 10, or 12 ga., 28-32 in. damascus barrels, many deluxe custom orders occur in this model. Mfg. from 1883-95. Approx. serial range is 1-3,050 and 4,055-8,365. Seldom encountered in mint condition.

    Grading........100%.....98%.....95%........90%.... .......80%..........70%......60%.....50%
    ................$4,250...$3,750...$3,350..$2,995.. .$2,675...$2,200..$1,925..1,650

    40%............30%.......20%......10%

    $1,485..$1,100....$990.......$875

+1 on Kid's Post.---Colt did not manufacture a 1893 Hammerless. It has to be the 1883 Hammerless, which could have been " Manufactured" in 1893, as they were made until 1895.
