    Picked up a Courier

I was at a gunshow/flea market today and spied a Courier in a gun rack...I haven't seen one in a long while, so a deal was struck...I brought it home, half expecting problems out of it, like many other 40 year old .22 semi-auto rifles. To my surprise, it feed flawlessly and shot good groups.

it feels good in the hand also

The courier was my first Colt 22 auto rifle. I prefer it over both the Colteer and stagecoach due to the pistol grip and forearm. They all function fine but will need cleaning sometime down the road to keep working. If you can clean the bolt face and breach face of the barrel every time you shoot it, it should extend the funtioning period until you will have to remove the trigger group and do a complete action clean and oil. I have probably shot 500 or more rounds between complete cleanings. The courier is a little easier to takedown as it only needs a coin to unscrew the forearm screw. Then remove the inner magazine tube. Followed by removing the foward pin with a small dowl or screw to allow the trigger group to come out. That is it. Putting it back in requires the bolt handle to be held slightly back as the trigger/bolt group is inserted but once you figure it out it is easy to do.
