    Colt R 6430

I bought a Colt R 6430 new in 1995. The box says pre ban and it is a blue label. The gun is described as a Colt Lightweight Sporter in 9mm. It has a fixed stock and no forward assist. I know little about this carbine even after owning it for fifteen years. I have shot it a little but it is like new. Anyone out there know about these guns and like to share info? Seems to be a bit rare but I just dont know.

    Cool

    it's basically the 2nd version of the 9mm ar15.

the originals were truly preban, came in a green label box, had the bayonet lug and a collapisable stock and were marked ar15. the funny thing is i remember when they were considered dogs and could be bought for 350.00. obviously they are all worth much more than that today including yours.
a fine collectible carbine that's fun to shoot and worth hanging onto imo.

Thanks for the info. I do enjoy occasional shooting with it, surprisingly easy to get good groups without a lot of practice. I dont know if it will accept a collapsable stock but may put one on if that is possible?

Hey, thanks for the links. I think this gun deserves a collapsible stock.

    stock

To do it correct - get a decent 9mm recoil buffer. USA made recoil spring, milspec receiver extention, castle nut and plate. Pick up on of the many Colt M4 stocks listed on the boards.
You will be good to go.

    R 6430

I like the idea but have been a little too addicted to buying Colt revolvers lately, I still plan to upgrade this carbine though...thanks
