Pics of Billy the Kid's Thompson gun

While visiting the Lincoln County courthouse from which Wm Bonney made his famous escape, I ran across this Thompson gun, purchased in the '30s by the sheriff's department and marked US Navy Model 1921. The docent told me it has spent most of its life in the county safe.

    Me puzzled...

But mabye me stupid.... ( i know nothing i'm from Barcalona...)

By the time the Thompson was developed William "Billy the Kid" Bonney resided on boot hill ... as in something like 40 years...

Or do you reffer to Bonny Parker as in Bonny and Clyde...?

Who's the idiot that sold-off New-Amsterdam? I could have been reading this board in Dutch!

If guns are the cause of gunviolence, pens are responsible for writingerrors.

no, the way I read it is thus:

in the 30s, the sheriff of Lincoln County bought a 1921 USN thompson...

its on display in the Lincoln County Courthouse museum...

this just happens to be the same courthouse that William "Billy the Kid" Bonney escaped from WAY BACK BEFORE the '30s...

Lincoln County is in New Mexico and Bonnie and Clyde were never that far west that im aware of...

Besides, it is very well known that the Kid never used anything but a Super .38 Auto. He was too small to handle a full auto .45. Thanks, Joe

+1 -- Sam Peckinpah was a genious and "Pat Garret and Billy the Kid" is one of his best movies -- and one of my personal favorites.

Can you imagine a film maker trying to do that opening chicken scene as Peckinpaw did today?
PITA and every other group would be nuts with the protests.
    It'd be GREAT!
