    LE 6920 age?

I am new to the Colt AR's and I have a question. My serial number 025XXX has the large .170 fcg pins but standard pivot/takedown pins of .250. It also has the m16 style BCG. How can I tell the manufacture date? Thanks.

You can do what I did and call Colt.

I have called them before and they were most helpful in telling me the year of manufacture. I doubt you'd have much trouble doing the same. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

I tried calling them, they couldnt tell me the date? I wasnt sure about buying this used rifle at first, as compared to buying a new LMT/BCM etc. But it seems pretty solid so far. I painted an extra set of furniture for use when coyote hunting.

    Looks nice.

I wonder why you had trouble getting that information? Maybe I guess it depends on whom you speak with.

Call and ask to speak to someone else.

Sometimes people that answer the phone forget the "service" in Customer Service.

I think the date is located under the handguards on the barrel somewhere.
