My new Colt AR6450 9mm carbine

I picked it up on Saturday (8/20). While I did not want to spend the $, I think I did okay. I traded my KelTec Sub 2000 (which in comparison was a toy) + $550. By far, the Colt is the better weapon and has the "cool" factor as well. I will try to get out and shoot it next weekend. I have two Spikes Tactical mags and will order some extra MetalForm from Aim Surplus or CDNN I think I am keeping this one stock. This one has a sear block. Does that make it more or less desirable? It was previously owned by a local police officer if that gives any indication of its intended purpose.

I'm late on this, but just got a new one of these. Love the way it shoots--first three shots through the bulls eye @ 22 yards (maximum distance of the range I've used it at so far), standing position, and the sights were just as they were out of the box. If I have one complaint about it, it's almost 3 inches shorter at full extension than my .223 AR. I have to find a way to retrofit a longer buttstock in order to make shooting comfortable with my long arms. If the rumored flat-top model comes out (and if I can fix the short-butt problem) I'll get it and mount an Aimpoint red dot sight. Project for this weekend is to do some work on the trigger to make it as close as possible to the Giessele I installed in my .223/.556 AR/.556 as there appear to be no aftermarket drop-in triggers for this.

OP, nice carbine. That ought to be very affordable to shoot.

Correct, less expensive to shoot, plus I can shoot indoors where rifle calibers are not allowed. Most important of all, I have a Colt. I am average sized so the length of the stock is okay for me. I have put about 300 rounds through it and it makes very tight groups... nice!

Thanks-great stuff ... I've already started laying the groundwork. Shot mine again this morning and even though it's a bit cramped, the results were pretty fantastic. And it's FUN! So far I've only used 130-gr ammo and will try 115, 124, & 147 next week. Saw one--only one--at the Nation's Gun Show this afternoon. In fact, Colt ARs in general were conspicuous by their near-absence.
