I have had my stock M-4 for several years and am ready to add an EoTec and several other options like flip up iron sights, new forearm guard etc. New to "Tricking out" so show me some stuff.

no but its got the auto azzwipe attachment and the auto nose picker added for no extra chg! lol
Tony, I would recommend against going with a piston-driven AR15. The AR/M16 was designed from the ground up around the direct impingement gas system. When you throw a piston into the mix you are no longer allowing gas to get to the BCG and this throws the whole system off. When the gas enters the BCG it pressurizes the BCG from the inside. This internal pressure is what eases pressure from the locking lugs and also what gets the bolt moving to the rear. What you get by throwing a piston into the mix is a higher likelihood of carrier tilt (because AR's don't have receiver rails), of damaged locking lugs, and of a damaged cam pin. Here is some good reading material for you.

In the spirit of the OP's intent:
Attachment 15899
No Offense intended. Here are my thoughts. I have two 6920 Colts. They are as they came from Colt and will stay that way They are light, agile and easy to maneuver. I consider them to be the ideal defense rifle.
I have one Colt 6940 and I will put one of the three bipods that I have on it. I will equip it with a Aim Point M4 US military scope. I see absolutely no use for a flashlight on a 100 yard plus rifle. The only reason I would consider using one of my bipods on this rifle and the military M4 red dot is because of the original Colt configuration of the floating barrel and the independent top rail system.
I know this is Colt's slogan and like I said, no offense, but I firmly believe "if it doesn't say Colt it is just a copy."![]()
