    Colt Green Label Carbines

Maybe someone can confirm or deny this assertion.
I am referring to the R6450/R6520 green label carbines (mfd. 1990/raised reinforcement on right receiver- not slabside/no sear block/CMC- not CFD).
Supposedly, only 550 of R6520 and 1,000 of R6450 were made.
Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about the numbers produced on the two models you mention, but I am curious to know if the gun in question has the GC prefix on the serial number. A guy brought a Government Carbine into the Cobb County show this weekend that he had purchased new, and looked as if it had just come out of a time machine. I tried to buy it from him but he wouldn't sell. It would have been a great match for my unfired Government Model (green label 6550). Sorry I could not answer your question.

    No problem!!!
    The SN's will be GC00XXXX and TA00XXXX.
Your R6550 is pretty rare itself.

    6550

Here are a couple pictures of the GS, Tony. I saw some dust on the left side mag well, but oh well. Slab side and .155 pins, just like they should be.

Thanks. It is all original with box (rough), hang tag, and the carboard tube that comes in the barrel. The first thing I do with my shooter AR's is replace the bird cage with Smith Enterprises Vortex flash hiders. My Govt Model rifle is not a shooter, it's a safe queen and I left the bird cage on it. I have shot a 10.5" full auto AR at night with the Vortex, and you can barely see a muzzle flash. But that's for another thread.

The SN ranges that I am aware of are as follows:

(R6450)- TA0751X through TA0795X (with some slabsides in between)
(R6520)- GC00673X through GC00759X (with some slabsides in between).
