Wasn't there a law there prohibiting "regular" AR's ? Had to have a fixed magazine that loaded from the top or some such nonsense ? One company even went so far as to make a pump action "AR" just for the CA market .
Congrats though on the Colts !

ARs are not banned. COlt ARs (vast vast majority) are banned by name alone. The new ones do not have the law enforcement stamp so we can bring them into PRK if there is no lug and the mag is fixed.

Colt ARs that had either "Sporter or AR 15" on them are banned by name. The new M4 is not named and not banned. I picked up my 6920 a couple weeks ago. Here in Ca. if you have a pistol grip you cannot have a detachable magazine or a flash hider.
The legal work around is the Bullet Button a device that replaces the stock mag release with a new release that requires a tool to activate. A bullet is a tool under Ca. law. There is another device called a Mag Lock for AKs.
Believe me if you thought the bit above was confusing. Trust me when I say it was the barest of bones description of our crazy laws.
