Very good question. Maybe $ 50 - $ 100 more (If you are a collector) then what you can get a non-letter one for.
Has anyone seen one, if I buy one, how much should I pay???? thanks

Well, just bought mine two weeks ago via the Internet and it cost me $1059. Didn't come with a letter, but I didn't buy it for the letter either!
The last 100 Colt LE6920's and the last 100 Colt LE6940's produced came with a factory letter. The letter will add at least $200 to the price of the rifle.
Thanks for the replies, my dealer said the 6920's are gone, but there are some 6940's still available with letter from his supplier. Think I will order one.
I just ordered one yesterday (without letter) 1099.00 shipped
I have been watching two things
first they are starting to get cleaned up (not complete just holes in inventory)
second dealers ( I am sure distributors) as starting to bring the price up
I really dont think I will get rich on the one I bought I am going to shoot it just wanted a new one before they go
I have 2 now but both in 9
Hank
The entire remaining inventory of Colt LE6920 and Colt LE6940 rifles, as well as the above mentioned 200 "letter" guns, were sold to MGE Wholesale. With the exception of just a few of the lettered LE6940's, all of the Colt LE marked guns are in the hands of dealers and their customers. If you want to get one of these bought I would get it done ASAP.
I don't know about the "letter", but this site has the LE series rifles: Specialized Armament Warehouse: Rifles & Carbines
Bought mine for $1089 off the Internet. Didn't come with a letter--but I did't purchase it to take the letter to the range. Its a fantastic rifle and is now my second most precious possession (after my 69 Z28). Don't worry about the paper, you'll never want to sell it!
