Yes, Colt made mags...20 rounders. My target price would be 995, but 1050 is pretty fair. If it had the box, mag, original papers, etc., I'd value it at 1295. But, it doesn't.

Hi to everyone. Local seller has a Colt SP1 AR-15 Sporter in .223 for sale. Stock and overall condition would be rated in good condition. Just was wondering what this would be worth. No Colt mags come with the gun. However I don't know if Colt made mags for this gun. He has 3 mags for it. States he had a gunsmith look at it and states it is all original. Has the triangular foregrip, no forward assist and cmp chrome bore. Any thoughts as to value would be great. Seller was asking 1200.00 now he is down to 1050.00. Thanks to all.

The early AR SP rifles came with two 20 round Colt magazines, a cleaning kit, sling, plastic muzzle protector, manual, etc.
Value depends on actual condition. $1050 for one in nice shape is about right.
That's my favorite way to do AR 15. Simple and uncluttered by gadgets and gizmos.
