Yes it is made, it is listed in 2011 price list as an AR6450 9mm Carbine with 32 round magazine. ($1176) It is listed with the sporter rifles. I have an R6430 9mm from 1989 that I like a lot.
I can not find such a gun on the Colt web site but RSR lists it. So is Colt making such a gun now?

I believe Colt does the 9mm AR's in small production runs. If you want one you have to move quickly when they are released to distributors before they are all spoken for.
They eat ammo faster than the 223's...
