Colt SP 6940 Christmas Present From My Wife!

She's a great friend, lover and shooting companion, I think I'll keep her.

I've added an Aimpoint Micro H1 and a Larue 2pt Tactical Sling. Can't wait to get to the range and sight it in!

(Sorry for the poor quality of the picture).

My plan is to use Federal Lake City M193 ammo to sight in the Aimpoint and then bring the BUIS to match the red dot.
Any suggestions or feedback are welcomed.

A quality carbine and a quality optic Good job! I can't tell what type of Aimpoint mount you have from that picture, but just make sure it is the correct height for an absolute co-witness. A lot of mounts are built to give the user a lower 1/3 co-witness. If it is a lower 1/3 co-witness you will not be able to sight your irons and optic off of eachother.

We both have great wives. The kids and my wife all got things they wanted and despite my full expectation I would get a well deserved lump of coal, there were some cool things under the tree for me.

Among the neat things Santa left me was a Colt 6920 MPB. This is a special run of the Colt M4 carbine with magpull furniture. Sure to be a sought collectable one day as the box even denotes the MPB designation for the Magpul furniture.

The other neat toy my wife got me was a recreation of the WWII issue Woodman's Pal. That gal knows me so well, I was not expecting this and I am quite delighted with it.

I have not taken a shot of it yet, but this is exactly what it looks like. Sturdy and still made in America in the same factory where they were made in 1941.

I just ordered a 6940. It's my belated Christmas present to myself.

Congratulations to you all. Colt seems to be the standard by which all AR15's are judged.

What optics and slings do you plan to use?
