55gr is the lowest I would go with a 1/7 twist. Preferably something in the 60+gr range. There are a lot of good rounds out there. It all depends on what you want to do.
Hi Guys;
I have a SP6940 1:7 RH twist 16" barrel and wanted to know the recommended 'best' round to use in bullet weight? And the reason behind as wellif possible. Thank you all in advance for your insight...

Huz, 55 gr. FMC is fine for general practice or plinking and does well out to 100 to 200 yard. Black-hills Ammo sells a blue box brand that is remanufactured in 68gr., 69gr., 75gr., and 77gr. jacketed Hollow point match. Check out the site. Safe shooting, Mark

I use a 55grn SP Hornady. I do load my own so that is a advantage in accuracy. I can shoot quarters all day long at 100yds with the 55 grn over H335 powder. I use it for coyote hunting and am confident if conditions are good to hit at 300yrds using a 4-12x40mm Elite scope. The groups do start to spread out quite a bit at 300 but everything is in the vitals on a coyote at that range. I haven't tried anything heavier except factory stuff and it seemed pretty inconsistant for my likings.

They have good prices and availability. I've dealt with them for the past 4 yrs or so and been very pleased with their service.

I think 55grn SP is the right one best size for your SSP6940. I have see this one for many of my friends and they all are use the 55grn for their SSp6940. According to that it is best suit for their Gun.
I have not idea about that but my friend already using it and they are using 55grn SP. They always say me it is one of the best round for this gun.
55g ballistic tip works well for me. Accurate and packs a big punch! For a 22 that is...
