    Colt AR 15 LE Stampings

    Hello th the Forum;

    This is my first post so go easy on me. Went to a gun show over the weekend

    Been looking at Colt AR 15's(#1) I see one stamped "Carbine M4 with serial # LE 123456" nothing on the other side

    (# 2 ) "Colt Law Enforcement Carbine serial LE 123456" & on the other side reads "Restricted Military / Government Law Enforcement / Export Use Only"

    I thought the one stamped M4 would be more but No Could some one explain this to me If there both stamped LE why the difference in price.

    What should I look for??

    I don't know why the price would be different if it is the exact same carbine with different roll marks, but I can tell you what to look for in a serious-use AR15.

    The "M4 CARBINE" is the new rollmark, the "Law Enforcement Carbine" with the Restricted markings is the older. The higher price would be for the collector value; however, the weapons are the same...

    Your defensive-ar15 thread is excellent William, very well done.

    Thank you. As somebody who once owned and payed a lot for a sub-par AR15, I just want to get this information out to others.

    I like the fact that you provided excellent documentation without feeling the need to bash other brands.
