    Value of carry handle

I have a LE6920 that I got last December from my wife for Christmas and at the same time my son got me a EOTech XPS1. Problem the removable handle and rear sight lay useless with the EOTech installed. I plan on getting a folding rear sight to install on the gun as a back up to the EOTech and listing the handle in the classifieds to help in paying for the new sight. I really dont know the value of the handle/rear sight which was bore sighted and then 10 rounds fired to zero at 50 yards and then removed to sit on the self. If someone could help me place a fair price on this I would appreciate it. Thanks for reading and replying if thats the case.

I have some of those myself but I just need to get off my chair to list them, BTW my forge marking of the square (Brass Aluminum Forging Enterprises) from '12, '11 and 2010 are the same as yours.

At AR15.com Equipment Exchange Colt generally go for $50 used up to $75 for new take offs and anywhere in between (that's before the crazy buying panic in early Dec. 2012).

New with factory packaging from dealers go for $125, and gougers at Gun Broker go up as high as $135.

If I'm going to list mine it would be probably from $70 to $75.

I'm in the process of converting my new Colt Magpul LE model to the standard M4 that I wanted.
My nephew found the Magpul and picked it up, hoping I'd accept it.
Since there's no guarantee about when an M4 would tun up, I took the Magpul and started switching out the parts.

All I have left to change is the Magpul pop-up rear sight.
My nephew told me he ordered a carry handle but I'm not real sure what he ordered. The price he told me sounded way too low. I'm hoping he didn't mistakenly order a bare handle with no sights, or some weird non-standard plastic unit.

So, I may be asking here for a Colt handle in a few days.

If I were you, I'd put it on ebay and let the market decide. Pre panic $75 was fine, but I'd bet they go higher right now. Esp. because it's factory Colt.

When I went through basic training we had M-14s. They took away and gave us M16s. John Wayne had made the Viet Nam movie, and it showed him carrying the rifle by the handle, look cool. DI would kick your ass long and hard until you learned that was not a carry handle. Never did explain what the hell it was for, didn't ask either.

XB40, I was never military, I honestly did not know that. I assume he just wanted you to have your weapon more ready? In my Police Academy we were never allowed to have anything carried in our right hand. Originally we were told it was so we could salute as needed. The actual reason, not disclosed till much later, was to get us in the habit of having our gun/fighting hand free and ready. Good advice that I still use to this day.
