.38 Diamondback question

Did the .38's have the red front sight ramp from the factory, or is this an aftermarket addition? I'm looking at one to buy and was just curious. Thanks for the information.

While almost anything's possible with Colt, I'm pretty sure all DBs, like my .22 and .38 DBs, came with black ramp front sights, with no insert.

Not on the the 2 1/2" and 4", but possibly could be ordered, or after market, on the 6" models as they have a pinned front sight. HTH

Thanks for the help; I bought it. At the end of the day it really didn't matter to me that it was 100% correct. I bought it to shoot, not sit in a safe. The grips are right, finish is good, and it was less than $800.00 shipped to me, so I'm good; can't wait to get it.
