    Question on Colt Commando

At the Reno Gunshow I spotted a Colt Commando with a two inch barrel. I will get the serial number tomorrow, but have a question. In the small space between the frame and barrel is is roll marked Colt Commando in small letters. The front sight is the correct half moon. The finish is the standard parkerized gray and the grips are plastic.

My concern is the barrel. There is no tapering of the barrel. The front of the barrel appears to be have been cut off. Is this correct for a 2 inch barreled Commando, or has someone been busy creating a fake?

It's also useful to know that the original 2" Commandos used "CONN" as the abbreviation for Connecticut. The 4" barrelled Commandos were stamped with "CT".

Odd that the shorter barrel would have the longer abbreviation.
