Above said question. I slide it back on but it won't seem to quite go on entirely so I can screw it in. It looks like there is some kind of little spring piece sticking up that forces it forward when assembled on the right side of the gun and a notch on the on the side of the latch for it.
I just replaced a bolt spring and finally got the gun back together except for this. I tried forcing it a little but forcing can lead to unpleasant things I've learned
Thanks
Doug

I just posed the question there, thanks
gee whiz, I've posted this question on 3 different gun forums and nobody knows the answer (or at least hasn't responded). Is my question unclear?
Do you have a schematic drawing of the Uberti, if so give me the part number you are having trouble with, its not 100% clear to me what part you are having trouble with. Think it might be part 639 stud latch that fits on the frame and not the barrel block that fits on the barrel assembly. You may have to remove the hammer and check that the safety bar (656) and its safety spring (316) are correctly inserted and orientated in the mortise cut. The stud latch spring (640) may also not be correctly seated in its
mortise. Hope this helps.
Just had a thought, dont forget that the hammer needs to be in the LOADING position to position the studlatch (639) correctly. Try this first. With the sideplate on and secured.

I used to have one of those. I took the barrel catch off once. I don't remember there being any trick to it. I believe it went right back on.
There are two screws right?
twaites, Hi, I think you got the part on the barrel that uses two screws and the correct one must go in the correct hole. Think the query is regarding the lockup part on the main frame. It will not locate properly unless the hammer is in the loading position.
Oh yeah, thats right. It's been a while.
Oh Hi all! I didn't realize I had gotten some more responses.
Well, I figured it out. slid the catch on until i met resistance, pushed it forward towards the cylinder applying force and it snapped right on. That little hole on the bottom right side of the catch snapped into that little spring piece that keeps it stable while holding the top break together.
I knew it was probably something real simple that I wasn't doing, it didn't look that complicated. I tend to resist forcing things when they don't seem to want to fit. I'd have cousins that would do that growing up that would wind up with a lot of broken toys as a result. But sometimes it pays off
