Red face CCW Holster for Detective Special

    Hi everyone.

Well I finally did it I got a Colt DS made in 1962. I LOVE IT. Great carry piece, I wanted to know what you all would sugest for a carry holster.

At this time I am using an old Clark leather clip on holster, its out side the wasteband. It would be good but it does not keep it close enough to the body.

The Grip hangs out a bit. Any sugestions what are people using on this forum for a CCW holster for the DS

    THANKS

When I do use a holster with my Agent or DS, I use a Galco Speed Paddle...Yeah, I know "paddle" sounds large. It actually isn't. The holster is also turned so that the but kinda turns into my side, so it holds the gun in pretty tight.

I can recommend the Simply Rugged Silver Dollar Pancake holster made by Rob Leahy. It is a great value. See http://www.simplyrugged.com/store/index.html

If you want to spend a bit more (and wait a lot longer) for a Milt Sparks, the PMK is a work of art and designed expressly for the Detective Special. See http://www.miltsparks.com/

    El Paso Saddlery

My 1956 DS rides in an El Paso Saddlery "Street Combat" rig. It is OWB, suede lined, and has no retention device to slow one down. Check it out.

I have 3 for my 1967 Detective Special. The first is a IWB Desantis holster I use most often. It completely covers using any shirt.I also have a Galco speed paddle holster and a Desantis Shoulder Holster. It is funny because the IWB holster was the one I got for the least amount of money. It was new old stock in the original package for 8 dollars on Ebay....Mike

I tried one of these on advice of the fellow forum member who sold me he DS. Made by a LEO, ingeniously simple and brother do they stay put thanks to the sticky band around the center. For cargo pants/shorts they are great and the price won't set you back much.

I use a Gaylord Metro Crossdraw that I ordered from Bell Charter Oaks. They don't carry that type anymore, but they do still have a wide selection of Detective Special holsters. http://www.bellcharteroakholsters.com/
