I Can't Believe I Won This Classic Lefty Holster On G.B.!!

I'm always looking for left handed Colt S.A. holsters by famous makers but never find them. Until now.
here's an old style Arvo Ojala lefty holster I found on G.B. It's different than the ones made now because there's no dip in front to clear leather faster. Plus new ones are $200 without the belt. I hope it fits a .45 but if it's for a .22 I can live with that. I'll clean it up and make a duplicate Ojala belt to match and ding it up to match. This is a little esotoric but I'm thrilled to get it, and especially at this price.

Here's Little Joe Cartwright's rig. It's an identical holster.

Very interesting buy and what a price! What, if anything will you do to treat or restore the leather? Does it need any attention.

I ask because I have German Walther leather holster (PP .32) that my father brought back that appears to be in the same condition. I have done nothing to it but may if I get the right advise.

    Congrats and thanks.

I might use the dreaded neatsfoot oil that lots of folks here don't like. But this holster is steel lined so it won't go wobbly. But first I'll clean it with saddle soap and water, let it dry and inspect the dings and scuff marks. Replace the hammer thong, add a tie down, and restitch places if needed. I could die it black but I already have a black Ojala rig. I'd rather simulate a beat up belt patterned after the belt I have already.

See some times being a lefty has some advantages. I bet if it was a right hander the price would have been more. Great looking holster and it went to someone that will take care of it and appreciate it. Nice find !!!

Here's what this holster is supposed to look like. This is Michael Landon's Arvo Ojala rig from Bonanza. If all goes right I'll make a belt like this to go with the holster I'm getting.

Those Cartwrights always had some nice gear. I was just admiring Hoss' pistol and holster on todays episode.
