I have an early 1900's 41 long colt in good condition. Anyone know how much something like this is worth?
Is this an "Army Special" or a gun that was actually US Army issue? I'd suspect the former unless it is a test gun or some kind of special purchase; to my knowledge the US military never officially used or issued anything in .41. (Does it, for example have Ordnance acceptance stamps?)
"Army Specials" were used by lots of civilian cops, but never were Army issue--as far as I know. Just a Colt model name, probably because they were made on the same frame as the true Army .38s, Mods. 1892-96, etc.
All that said, a .41 Army Special was considered a serious killing machine back in the day.
