Wonderful news that it is indeed factory nickel. You certainly pulled in a nice rare example. Congratulations !!!!

I actually looked at this pistol and put it back. I asked what they wanted and they said 400. It wasn't till a couple of hours later that I realized it might be pretty rare. I actually wound up calling them and paying for it on the phone and having it shipped. I was lucky that the store that had it is normally so overpriced on this stuff that no one goes in there to look for it. Blind squirrel I guess.....
Need it boxed up?

Wilson listed them in the TBOCF as blue finish only with a total production of less than 2500. Even if one used the imagination and assumed a typical 10% nickel production, less than 250 nickel Marshals would exist, making them pretty rare. I have had a boxed four inch Marshal in my collection for many years, and somewhere along the line picked up an empty box for a two inch Marshal that I hung onto, in hopes of finding a stray two inch Marshal to fill it. It took over 20 years, and in that time, I ran across only two, and managed to buy one, to finally fill the two inch Marshal box. In all those years of searching, I never saw a nickel Marshal...Would you like to double your money?...![]()
