That's great news!
I think you will enjoy it as much as we like Detective Specials. They are terrific firearms even in the plastic gun age.
I just put a Detective Special (3rd Generation, shrouded ejector, nickel finish) on layaway at the local pawn shop. $450.00 OTD. Good stocks, tight lockup, good timing. No turn line but needs cleaning and has black rings around each charge hole in the cylinder . I feel like I got a fair price. Pick it up next Wednesday.

Great price. I just bought a nickel 3rd Gen made in 1975. Love it! Took it to the range, and it shoots as good as it looks.

Great weapon! I carried one for years.

That is a sweet deal as far as I am concerned. I have a few DS 2nd and 3rd generations from an earlier addiction. Try RB 17 for composite build-up. IMHO I believe RB 17 is fine for removing powder burns from cylinders. The green slimy gel stinks like holy hell but works great.

I suppose you know that when you make a post like this JD, that you signed an IOU for pictures !![]()
