I think the Ammo offsets the gun purchase price, which is a good thing. Pictures would enable us to give you a better perspective, but Off hand I wouldn't complain. Congratulations.
I've been studying as much as I can about SAA guns for a few years now, saving my pennies and watching prices in shops, gunbroker and such. I wanted a gun I would shoot for fun, but knew I wanted a genuine Colt. I had a few close purchases but something always ended up not being correct. This weekend I walked into a deal I couldn't pass up. How did I do?
I ended up with a early 3rd generation, 4 3/4" .45 (1977, 89XXXSA), paid $1200 and received 4 boxes of .45 LC as a bonus. I'm not a expert but it seemed in great condition; fired but no evident drag line, blueing and case colors look factory new.I do a fair amount of hand loading and shooting and it will be a gun I plan on doing plenty of shooting with, something I can enjoy for years and hopefully hand down a few generations.

Welcome to the forum - I think you did OK - and the included ammo helps.. Sounds like you bought this gun to shoot a bunch.. The Colt SAA .45 w/short barrel is one of my own favorites.. Enjoy - And you know you can't just have one!!

Enjoy the ride - no-one gets out alive!
Congrats! That is THE classic caliber and barrel length for that gun. Enjoy it (hand loading will make that easier to do!).
Yep, don't look back on that one!
My very first Colt SAA purchased maybe 5 or 6 years ago was a 1978 made 45LC....paid 1200 for mine w/o any ammo. Fit, finish, function was superb. I think you did good. Welcome to the forum.
Welcome Jimmy. You did good. You can round off the ammo as about $140 if buying it off the shelf. I am at expert level at posting bad blackberry pics.. so read up on posting pics and show us what you got. A saying that I was told and have worn out.. " It's a Colt. You didn't pay too much you just bought too soon" That one was for future purchases that you will be making most likely. In this case I think you did great. If you have gun questions, this is the place. Congrats.
Welcome to the forum. Sounds to me like you did real well. Classic gun and barrel length. The old adage among handloaders is: "You don't really save much money, You just shoot a lot more". Very true!

Oh My!

I think you did ok. The 4 boxes of ammo (factory I hope, not some unknown persons handloads) around here we can't buy a 50 round box of .45 Colt ammo for much under $30. That'd make the deal pretty nice & give you some brass to reload yourself.
Enjoy that Colt, they are really nice guns.
