The 1917/New Service are a one of a kind Colt frame size. No other models will fit.
I have been looking for the perfect set of stocks for my 1917 Snubbie, and have had some bad luck that appears to be my own fault, or at least the fault of my ignorance.......
I am usually met with the question from sales-folks as follows : " I have some ( fill-in-the-blank ) model, will they work ? "
well, I have found I don't know, so, here I am......what models WILL fit on the 1917, from any era or style?
I appreciate the info, as I can't trust myself to make my own.......
anyone?

Post some pictures of your 'Snubby'!!!
Far as I recall, any stocks which fit a Commercial New Service will fit a New Service Model of 1917.
You can find them ( original, plain Walnut as originally came on the m1917, or the Black Hard Rubber used for the 'Civillian' or Commercial Models ) eaily enough on ebay or gunbroker or at most Gunshows.
Nice, high condition plain Walnut ones from WWI are usually going to be a little pricey now, as are any nice, original ( verses re-pproduction ) high condition Black Hard Rubber ones, but, worn or beat up ones tend to still be reasonable enough usually.
Old or newer Stag, Jigged Bone, Ivory, Pearl, Horn, or old aftermarket Target Stocks and so on, are also possible to find, and, may or may not be listed or labeled correctly or understood/identified by the seller.
