Colt Magnum Carry observation and Serial number questions

I was poking around on the forum and see there is a photo thread started on the Colt Magnum Carry. I see serial number 3 is shown as a 1st Edition and serial number 47 is shown as a standard Mag Carry. I am under the impression that 300 1st edition guns were produced and I own serial number 410. Of course the above serial numbers will support the idea that the 300 1st editions were not consecutive. Anyone have any insight? I am about to list #410 for sale and want to have some solid facts for the description.

    Thanks!

Hey Keystone Arms, Thia is a fact, 400 1st editions were made. 1st edition is on the barrel. 1 have serial number 394. The model is officially called a SD2020FE 357 Magnum Carry. come in blue bpx with a white sleeve. I have found there are alot of opinions as to its value, it is worth what someone will pay you. Don"t laugh, I will not take a penny less than $ 7500.00 A real COLT collector will appreciate and pay if they do
not have one. They are rare as someone wants them to be. BALDIE

I think it is odd that the 1st Editions were not serialized consecutively. Like I mentioned above, I own a 1st Edition that is serial number 410. I guess it is just natural I thought the first 400 guns would've been the 1st Editions but that obviously is not the case. I would be happy to get $2k out of my 1st Edition.

Mine is Ser. No. SY41XX. Nothing special here. Just a NIB Magnum Carry.

Actually, I believe it had been rumored originally that only 200 1st Editions were made. With them being non-consecutive, it is hard to tell from the "outside".

I originally heard the same thing as A1A that only 200 were presented, or selected if you will, to be 1st Editions. Mine is the #47 you mention, and it is a standard issue, no Custom Shop accoutrements. I later heard 300 were marked as 1st Editions, this is the first time I'm hearing 400.

I have the same box/gun as above, just number 410. I have always been under the impression there are 300 out there and the 400 is a first for me as well.

I suspect the 400 number is simply a false conclusion based on there being serial numbers in that range and the apparently false premise that all 1st Editions are contiguously numbered from 1.

FWIW 300 was always the rumored number of 3" DS-IIs. That may also be faulty.

Is your white sleeve exactly like the one above. Model SD2020FE 1st Edition magnum carry. SY0XXX. I was told if you didn't have the white sleeve it possibly might not be a 1st Edition. If so, I've been sold a bill of goods. My white sleeve is just like the one above except SY0391. my yellow sticker has 422982 on it. the ucb code 98289 03 104 4 is the same also. please help me clarify. thx
