If you mean the pin that aligns the grips, it should press out.
Finished up the previous bob job on my early 90's DS. Lightened and smoothed the trigger pull a little with normal cleaning, but I may try a lighter spring in the future. Couldnt chop the hammer any smaller because of the firing pin. Now having taken a revolver apart its not so intimidating.
On a side note, how can you remove the little nubs at the bottom of the grip in the frame? I tried to press/pound them out without luck. I'm reluctant to grind them off but I would like to get my hogue grip on it.

Looks like a neat little carry gun! Those are my favorite design of the rubber grips-I actually like them and don't like rubber grips in general. I carry an old nickle exposed ejector square butt DS, but don't have the heart to bob the hammer.
Great job on the hammer.
nice job on the hammer.

Oh My!
Thats what I thought. Apparently mine must be seized in there. I tried a few different methods taking care to not damage or mar up the frame with no luck, didnt even budge it. Tried vice grips, hammer with socket below the frame etc. Maybe I'll try it in a vice.
I do like the presentation grips but I like the way the hogues feel better and they are not any larger.
Thanks for the comments guys.
Check the Gunsmithing section. There might be something about getting those out. Or maybe ask Dfariswheel.

If possible, modify the Hogue, leave the pin.
On removal of the grip locating pin, I have aluminum vise jaw inserts for my bench vise. Drill a 3/8" hole in a piece of hard wood. Put the frame in the vise with the hole over the pin and use the vise as a press to push the pin flush with the frame into the hole in the wood. Then drive it the rest of the way out with a brass punch. They are very tight and heat may be helpful. You don' want to get it too hot, just too hot to handle with a bare hand. Kroil may help too.
Don't be tempted to start banging on it with a steel punch. If you bend it or mushroom the head it gets real ugly fast.
