Questions about my Lawman MkIII Snub, refinish? Sell?

I bought a Lawman MkIII snub in a local deal last year. It is an e-nickel gun and had the colt pachmyar grips on it.
I don't care for the rubber grips and replaced them with some correct Colt wooden stocks. My question, and I'll post some pics
later, is that the finish is different from where the rubber was and was not. It seems to have weathered. The finish seems darker on the part that was exposed to the air. There are also a couple of scratches on the gun. I could sell the gun 'as is' and probably take a loss and move on. Or, could I send it to Colt and have them refinish the gun? Can they refinish the gun either in blue or shiney nickel? I don't care for the e-nickel much. Thoughts? Prices? Turn around time? I do like the gun and like the feel and 'beefiness'...this thing is a tank. I assume the refinish would change the value.
    Thanks
    Rick

Hey Rick,I was just looking into the same thing. The Colt website lists refinishing services and recommends you contact customer service for any questions. I think a complete refinish is just under $300. They can also help with your question about changing the finish. For what it's worth, a LEO armorer I spoke with this weekend, while debating the purchase of a 1964 Python, highly recommends Ford's refinishing in Florida. Their website has a couple of examples of their work, including a couple of Pythons, going from blued to nickel.

Rick,I just had my D-back refinished by Colt in satin nickel the cost including shipping was $405.It takes 3-6 months to complete. The gun now looks like stainless.I will try to include a photo,if I can get photobucket to work.D*It didn't work too many characters.(:

I have a blued 2 in. Lawman MKIII with correct factory stocks. I may be interested in trading you. Mine has a little holster wear at the muzzle but still nice. FWIW, I believe most e-nickel guns came with the Colt/Pachmayr stocks from the factory. I just changed computers right now and I have not yet figured out how to get pics on the computer yet. I would like to add a e-nickel Colt to my collection as I don't have one.

Before you do anything, try cleaning up the gun with some Mothers Mag Polish. All metal coatings oxidize some, and eNickel is no different. Don't go nuts with the pressure. Try several light cleanings, and see if the finish doesn't even up a bit. If the finish evens out, then put a coat of Johnson's or Renaissane paste wax, and that will help protect the finish.
