Sounds like Buckspen's saying the real deal is real scarce.
I, too, am a collector of Frontier Scouts and the other .22 caliber single action Colts. Whenever possible, I contact the good folks at the Colt Archive Department (Bev Haynes or Joe Canali) before buying or bidding on unusual Scouts. I have quite a few of these guns and in my collection is one F serial numbered Buntline Scout which is a verified dual cylinder gun and one P serial numbered Buntline Scout which is a verified dual cylinder gun. These are quite scarce. The nickel K numbered Buntline Scout dual cylinder still continues to elude me. There have been a couple of nickel Buntlines in the right serial number range and marked ".22 CAL" come up for sale recently, but none that I have seen will letter as a true dual cylinder gun.

Sounds like Buckspen's saying the real deal is real scarce.
In his book on the Colt .22 caliber single action revolvers, Don Wilkerson states that only about 188 dual cylinder nickel Buntline Scouts were produced. That number makes it about the scarcest of any of the Frontier Scout/Buntline Scout models. I have two of these revolvers in the correct serial number range (40000K or higher) and marked ".22 CAL" but both letter as being shipped with only the .22 LR cylinders. Oh well, someday maybe.
