    Identify this old Colt box

I have this old box that has no identification label, don't think there was ever one on the box. It's in great shape & I would like to know what gun should be in the box. Any help will be much appreciated.

It looks like the boxes that were used in the thirtys. But it almost looks too good, like it might be a reproduction.Whats the bottom look like??

I believe close inspection would confirm it's originality. The stain on the corner has faded almost completely gone.

Looks original to me. If you are wanting to sell it, please post dimensions and a price in the classifieds.

In order to help identify the box, please post the dimensions here.

    Great box!
The Judge is right. We'll need the dimensions to help you.
It looks genuine to me, too.

OK guys the outside dimensions are 12 9/16" L x 4 1/2 W x 1 13/16 H tried to measure as accurately as my old eyes will allow. The box is hinged and looks like it's fabric covered. The color of the box in the sun is a blueish purple. I got the box in a trade with a totally wrong gun inside, I don't think this box would have been used for a percussion revolver. Since I have nothing that goes in this box I wouldn't mind passing it on to someone that could use it. But first I would like to find out what really should be in the box & of course the value.

I THINK I MAY HAVE FOUND MY OWN ANSWER! I used Google images & found Sam Lisker's ColtAutos.com. This site has a photo of this exact box, the gun that goes in it (a 32 Colt Pocket Positive) & explains why there are NO lables. I think it's a good one! Would someone be willing to take a look and confirm for me? Thanx much

This is the only boxed Pocket Postive I can find on Sams site:

Colt Pistols and Revolvers for Firearms Collectors - Pocket Positive .32 - Collector's Information

I don't think that box would be 12" long. I don't see the explaination about the label so maybe I have the wrong link?
Can you post the link you are refering to? Thanks

Nevermind, I found the right link:

Colt Pistols and Revolvers for Firearms Collectors - Pocket Positive .32 - Collector's Information

Still your box would be for a gun with a longer barrel. I'm thinking an Army Special or a Police Positive or Police Positive Special
