There are lower prices to be had but if you want it, Eh, buy it! Still in todays day and age, you can buy 90% guns for $750-$850. The Rubber grips are a turn off for me also.
looking at a colt python, 4" blue..has rubber grips no medallion..no box..in about 90% condition..is this worth the $950 asking price?

I would say thats a little high for a 90% gun with rubber grips. Guess it really depends on how often you see them up for sale. Around here I never see them in LGS, but I believe you can do better. Good Luck!
Colt Diamondback
Colt Python 4",6"
Glock 19,26
Colt OMM, Det. Spec.
Colt Trooper MKlll Nickel
90% and generic pachs or hogues probably $850 OTD max.

I have to be honest around here the ask on that gun might be $1100 and if your lucky you could talk them down to $950. I don't think you could buy one off of gunbroker.com for much less than that.
Here in Cali any Python south of $1K lasts only a few minutes, especially in that condition (90%). Get it, it sounds like it would make a great shooter...

I see 80%-90% Blued Pythons (4 and 6 inch) around here for 900 to 1000 with original wood targets. In my opinion you would have to deduct 150-200 for the lack of grips. So I would rate it 750-800. That being said if someone took that gun you speak of to a gunshow for 950, I doubt they would still have it at the end of the day. Of course the grips dont matter as much to some as they do to me... Hope this helps some, maybe??? Probably not...????.
