Colt Police Positive 38 S&W 1906 manufacture?

I recently aquired a good looking Police Positive in 38 s&w. It has a serial # of 6### (4 digits).

I was told by a local gunshop that it was made in 1906, is this correct?

I am also wondering how hard original grips for this gun are to find?

Last, I was wondering if anyone had an idea on value of this gun?
( I would put it between 85 and 90 %)

Welcome to the forum. 1906 appears to be the correct year of manufacture for a Police Positive 38 with that serial. Original stocks can be found occasionally on auctions such as eBay and GunBroker or in the ColtForum Classifieds. Reproductions of the original style stocks are also available if that would suit your purpose.

Ok, thanks for confirming the manufacture date. Do you happen to know what the value would be with original factory hard rubber grips ?
