Hey guys. Any opinions on this one? I've been watching it and I love the history behind it.

Welcome FlexoMan, nice Colt but I'll let the experts answer....Don't forget though, when you buy a gun you don't buy the story that goes with it you simply focus on the gun....unless of course there is actual pictures of the owner and the gun (sheriff, actor etc.) original bill of sale!!!!
    OK

WAY more than I would pay. This seller does have a heck of a sales pitch! Must have a marketing degree! Pic of the hardware store is a nice touch. Nice rig with it but i wonder if the carrtidge belt is appropriate.

The belt holds close to 40 or so I think . Too heavy to fall off my horse in the river with

......................Mine holds 25 .45 cal , and the whole rig is very heavy . I made it from
9-10 oz. leather from Tandy about '86 some of the others are before that. Some after.

In my opinion, while the “Flathead Indian Reservation” information is neat, it doesn’t contribute to the value of the gun because it can’t be directly attributed to the gun, only the region.

It is a ho-hum Single Action since it is chambered in 32-20, but a fairly decent 1st generation Single Action nonetheless! A Montana letter adds a pretty decent bonus value for collectors that like Single Actions that were shipped to western locations, so that would add to the package value. Old leather rigs like that one, assuming original, are out of sight expensive and would add significantly to the package.

So, throw out the story and consider the Single Action, the ship to location, and the leather rig (assuming original to the period) and you might approach the selling price; again, just my opinion.
