    Attn Diamondback Experts

I have a 6" Nickel Diamondback .22 that I have a few questions on. There is a N stamped on the frame under the serial number which tells me it was a factory nickel gun. Now the weird part, the hammer and trigger are not nickel plated?!?!?!?? I know some Diamondbacks have a blued rear sight and a nickel front and others have both nickel. I see some other Colt revolvers (Trooper) which have case hardened components on a Nickel piece. What do you think the story is and is this Kosher?

    Thanks!

An N under the serial number is an inspection stamp IMO. Some factory nickel revolvers (Diamondbacks in particular) have an N stamped on the grip frame and that is taken as an indication of factory nickel, although I have never subscribed to that 100% (let the evidence begin ). Indeed, let's hear from the Diamondback experts. I bet they'll ask for pictures.

I do have some pics I will put up. Until then, here is a link to the auction which shows the hammer and trigger. Thanks!
