Look's like it had a easy life, that fire blue rocks. Are you going to letter it?
I just got this in the mail today. I have to say some good words about John Bennett III and Bennetts Gun Shop in Phoenixville, PA. The gun was a bargain at $402 delivered. He got my check just last thursday or friday and shipped the gun on friday. Here it is Monday and it's already here. This is GREAT service. The quickest deal I've done through th mail.
The gun is beautiful. The timing and lock up are perfect. The bore and chambers are perfect. The blue and fireblue parts are super clean. I couldn't be happier. I'm surprised that no one else bid on it. I win again.
This is how it arrived. All I did was wipe off the oil:

That's a nice example!
I may letter it at some point. It's nice enough to deserve one.
Oh the serial is 130769 for those interested. I believe it makes it an 1899.
Beautiful gun
Pretty DA !
Was that the one on GB he had listed as ".41 Short Colt?" if so, that one's been on Gunbroker for months! I've had my eye on it all that time. The pics weren't too good, and I guess Imtook his word for it that it was chambrered in .41 Short - not so?Nice score! Be-a-u-ti-ful!
Outstanding!
Are you going to rob a train with it? I think you should!
Of course, it would have to be a train pulled by a steam locomotive.![]()
Good going!
Is there going to be a Range Report sometime soon?
Yes it was labeled .41 short. But it's .41 Long Colt with straight bored chambers with no shoulder. Made for older heel based bullets I presume.
Do you think the mis labeled .41 short is what spooked people from bidding? I knew it had to be a mistake.
Heres the listing
