WTB wood grips for my Colt DS

I just picked this gun up yesterday. I would like to find a set of Colt wood grips for it but I don't know what style frame it is. The ser# is D4xxxR if that's of any help. Seems like the going price on these is ~ $500. Does that sound right? Thanks, Dave

Those stocks are, however, what was supplied from the factory at that time. Any D frame stocks identified as for the post-1966 short square butt frame will fit. Nice acquisition.

I paid $500 for mine...same grips....mine is an AE date code, what is yours?

I recently picked up wood for it from a friend, so I didn't pay for them, but I'm sure you can find them for around 50 bucks...

This setup from another Colt member is a nice way to go also...the wood is thinner than the one above....the inserts can be had new from Numrich for 8 bucks....

The SEr# is D4xxxR. I'll need to call Colt to find out the year of manufacture.

The possibilities are 1993 to 1995. AExxx and RDxxxx were used into 1994, so I'd bet on late 1994 or 1995, but ...
