I had a really good 'gun day' today and picked up a sweet little 4" Python and a Colt Single Action Army - U.S. Marshal Commemorative (not the bicentennial) for $1600. I met with the guy planning on buying the SAA, however I saw that he had the Python and got him to add it into the deal at a nice discount. Pictures attached:

One Great Gun Day....Enjoy
How can you see the screen with a grin that big on your face!!!!
Yes I agree on the GERAT DAY !!! Congratulations on the deal.
Is the SAA and 1989 gun? 45 Colt? The hammer appears CCH but hard to tell. Are you going to shoot it?
I love that SAA , Sorry about the drool...........................Mutt
Congratulations, thor!
The gun was made in 1977. Special production run for the U.S. Marshal Historical Society Backside of the grip is engraved with the original U.S. Marshal owner's name and badge number. From the information that I have gathered, this was a run of 803 guns, all of which were in .45 Colt. The hammer is not CCH, just lack of flash in that part of the picture makes it appear to be. I don't plan on shooting it. It appears that the cylinder has either never been turned, or turned so few times what no visible wear is apparent. I just thought it was a good looking SAA, and had to have it!
I don't really plan on shooting this gun, just thought it was a beautiful piece and will keep it like it is. I'm currently on the lookout for a nice little 3rd gen. .357 in 4 1/2" that would make a good shooter. I'd like to stay with 45 Colt, but the ammo is just so expensive around here and I can get far better deals on 357 ammo.
I have found only 1 other pistol from this production run make an appearance online. Colt Single Action Army 45 U.S Marshal 1789 S#517 Us Sells Complete With Case, And Original Shippin | Proxibid Auctions
If history repeats itself, I'd sell the hell out of it and buy me 2 more!
