Looks like it could be a good shooter, but apparently somebody thinks those stocks are worth a premium.
There is a Python ending on G.B. in a few that has Full checkered grips. They look outstanding....To outstanding. Any opinions?

If those babies are the real deal, they are worth upwards of $1,000,000,000 er I mean $500-$1000.
I noticed this auction yesterday for the first time and you were the high bidder then. I dont think they are original. There are some good fakes out there. I have yet to see a Mint set of original 1st gen Python stocks go for more than $500. I have seen a few really nice ones sell in the 375-450 range. Of course I would expect to see the very early ones with early Medallions bring more than 500 in Near Mint/Mint Condition, but these are never seen, not by me anyway.

They are just to nice. IF they are original and in that condition, the sky is the limit!
I don't know, something just doesn't look right with the stocks.

No they didn't look exactly right. I thought there was maybe some glue around the Medallion that wasn't correct and the color even throws me. I wouldn't mind paying $1300 for it and could sell the gun for $800 or more to take a chance, but it went over $1300 and I know i'm stupid, just not that stupid.
Gus, Help me out with the early grips with the early medallions. Not familiar that there was such a beast. Please elaborate with serial ranges too! The grips shown above are repros, color is all wrong for one thing. They are way to good for that gun is another.

Hard to say from photographs, but the checkering doesn't look right to my eye. The points look too sharp, and the valleys too wide.

The condition of the stocks do not match the condition of the revolver.
