I saw a BP frame colt today made in 1882, is it safe to shoot this gun with bp loads or cowboy loads? Also what is this gun worth? has a 5 1/2 bbl all numbers match has a good + bore , most of the finish is long gone just a nice grey patina left. It also has the wooden grips.

I would not shoot any Colt SAA made before 1900 & serial # lower than 192,000 with anything but Black Powder. I might not even shoot it with Black Powder as they are irreplacable. I would love to have one, but might not shoot it.
