I appreciated everyone's pro's and con's on this post. Much appreciated.
I know I hate to give bad feed back.. but every now and then some sellers could use some "constructive feedback" on the difference between NIB and what is 98%.. or some southerners would say.."purty darn near" If its 95 to 98% the sellers still want NIB. This seller and I have dealt before and he is picky and on point. in line with us that suffer from Colt disease.

Whoa.. For those of you who mentioned the 4.4 " peacemaker prices.. MikeHolloway has a mint one listed with a buy now. somewhere around $1350. It's got the box ! That's a "big gun Colt " price. That sounds like a 4 3/4 price to me.
This same seller on this 6" barrel peacemaker sold me a mint conditioned unfired Buntline Peacemaker-no box for $635.00 Not a steal but as time passes the new ones are turning into used ones gradually in some cases. So as the barrel gets shorter, the prices are not. In two years I have not seen a true 4 3/4 peacemaker in like condition, but I could have missed one as I change what I am looking for from week to week. I have a 4.4 " that's a beauty.
I would figure that the gun package is $800 and the shipping $50 and you are not paying tax or registration fees like you would if you found that gun on a shelf at a retail gun shop. So while it's not a smoking hot deal and is at the upper end price wise, I don't think it's crazy expensive either. Ask youself this: how many packages like that have you seen lately and what do you think your chances are of finding another one like that at any price in the next several years ? I'd buy it and eat a sack lunch for a couple of weeks while thinking how much I like my new gun more than a greasy burger and soggy fries from a fast food outlet that I would have spent the extra money on.
That is a mouth full about priorities. It's the way I feel and you're probably healthier to boot.I'd buy it and eat a sack lunch for a couple of weeks while thinking how much I like my new gun more than a greasy burger and soggy fries from a fast food outlet that I would have spent the extra money on.
I feel guilty. I bought a mint 6 inch 22lr one about 6 years ago for $275. I got a used 22 mag only 4.4 incher for around $225, picked up a 22 lr cylinder and a new 6 inch barrel for $50 and $ 125 along the way. Sent it back to Colt for a re casehardening $150 plus shipping. Gun is now beautiful . ,total around $600. They are just about the most fun to shoot of any 22 revolvers. Get a shooter , it is a sin to make one a safe queen. Just under 100,000 out there, made in around 5 yrs. amazing how many guns Colt used to make
one could pay more than that for all the boxes you have just about without the guns in them !
