    2 1/2" stainless Python

    Goodmorning all ,

    I just purchased a 2 1/2" stainless Python and would like a little help... serial is PN109xx, what year was this produced?

    2nd queston is what is the correct grip, It came with Hogue finger groove, but instead of Houge on them it has COLT on the right side,

    any imput would be greatly appreicated, Thanks

    There must be more to the serial number.
    The 5 digit #109XX would be a 1960 gun, and Colt did not make a SS 2½ Python in 1960!

    Can't tell you for sure, but I had a 6" stainless with PY serial prefix and it was a '93 gun. Grips were rubber Colt target style with silver medallions. Someone will be along with more info, I'm sure. Great gun.

    Maybe I'm having a case of Deja Vu but didn't we see a thread about a PN prefix a few days ago and it was a 1994 ? I haven't had my 2nd cup of coffee yet so forgive me.

    Oh and they probably did ship with rubber

    Yes, PN is the prefix part of the serial number. Date of Manfacture Colt started showing Hogue monogrips on 4" Pythons in the 1995 catalog. Yes, the monogrips had the Colt logo instead of Hogue.

    Python with serial number PN109xx would be 1996 manufacture.
