    Colt .32 Rainmaker

I just came back from looking at a Colt .32 Rainmaker, I didn't know anything about them. It's very clean and available. If I bring it home I'll post a picture.

It is a rare gun. If you have the chance to purchase it, I would seriously consider obtaining it.

Those don't come up much. I saw one at the Julia auction a while back:

I unknowingly purchased one of these last year I think it was. I bought it from a guy along with some other guns. He described it over the phone as a parts gun. When he showed it to me, I barely inspected it because of the very low price he wanted for it, thinking that the grips alone would be worth the price of what he was asking. I tossed it aside so that I could get to inspecting the other guns he had for sale. After I brought it home and did some digging, I realized what a truly rare gun I had literally stumbled upon. The gun was in horrible condition. Non functioning, flaking nickel, missing metal, and probably some other stuff Im not remembering right now. I was discussing this on another forum and I was sent a PM from a guy offering $800. I was then told by another forum member that because of the condition, it probably wouldnt bring over 1K. I put it on Gunbroker with a buy it now price of $1100. Within probably 4 or five hours, it sold for $1100. I had another guy tell me after the sale he would have offered $1800. Hard to say what it would have brought had I let it be an open ended auction!! Oh well, its never good to be greedy, after all, it was by far the best turn around I have ever had on a gun. It was also kind of cool knowing that the guy who had bought it had been searching high and low for a rainmaker, even going as far as posting want ads for it. I say all this to give you a point of reference for pricing since there are so few examples to base value on. Ill post pics for those interested...
