Thank you Bushwhacker, as I am getting more into older snubs, I am finding that the timing on Colt change over's were always a moving target.

Elliot, I like that little Colt gem, too. A lot! I'm new to Colt revolvers, but I'm learning, mostly from the Forum. In May this year I bought a Colt PPS in .38 Spec. Not quite as nice as yours, and certainly one with many modifications, such as a re-barrel or chopped barrel, plus a filed down front sight. According to Proofhouse it was made in 1922. Serial number 2699XX. But she was a $200 bargain, shoots great and I carry her concealed. Now the hunt is on for some after-market Colt stocks. Enjoy your new beauty!

Elliot. Glad someone on the Forum got this gun. I had it on my watch list and had to hold myself back from bidding as I already have several. It sold for less than half of what it's worth. Good buy.

Thinking a little "outside the box" these stocks could easily have been the inspiration for Ropers. Does anyone have the years of production for authenticated "Ropers"?

Nice PPS with a lot of character and a caliber you can still get ammo. As far as grips try Grips for Antique Colt Revolvers

That is way I said "sometimes you get lucky" the seller graded it at 95% and had a very fair price. :-)

Looked at one of these little Colt's with the short barrel today. Well used, action kind of loose, bluing was pretty good, but looked old. Same stocks as the one in this thread with a chip out of the bottom butt area, not the corners. The bore was not so good and the price was too much.
But it was neat to actually see and look at one. If the bore was decent I might have tried to cut a deal. I don't mind buying a shooter but I cannot see throwing good money at a problematic Colt.

edit: The Colt I looked at was a New Police, .32.
